Good to know

90° and 270° swap width and height. 180° keeps the size. Any other angle enlarges the canvas — crop afterwards if you need a clean rectangle.

Can I straighten a crooked scan?

Yes — use a small angle, not 90°. The canvas expands to fit the rotated frame, so the corners end up empty; crop afterwards if the white corners are not acceptable.

Does rotating a photo shrink it?

No, the frame grows to contain the rotated image. Only cropping after rotation removes pixels.
