Remove the password from a PDF you can open, or strip print/copy restrictions from a file that opens freely. Decryption runs entirely in your browser — the file and its password are never uploaded.

How to use

  1. 1

    Upload

The protected PDF, up to 50 MB.

  2. 2

    Type the password

For files that open without a password but block printing or copying, leave it empty.

  3. 3

    Download

You get an unprotected copy; the original file stays untouched.

Only remove protection from documents you own — an unknown open password cannot be bypassed, which is exactly what encryption is for.

Can an online tool remove a PDF password you don't know?

No. AES-256 cannot be brute-forced in any realistic time, and no honest tool claims otherwise. Services advertising password "recovery" run dictionary attacks that only succeed on short, predictable passwords — a strong random password stays safe.

How do I unlock a PDF that opens fine but blocks printing and copying?

Leave the password field empty. Those files carry an owner password only, and the document itself is encrypted with an empty user password — so restrictions come off without typing anything, and the text becomes selectable again.
