Free tier: 10s / 640px / 15fps, 2 per day. With credits: up to 30s / 800px / 24fps. Conversion runs on our server and temp files are deleted right after.
Free conversions accept files up to 30 MB, clips of 1–10 seconds, widths of 320/480/640 px and 10 or 15 fps, two per day per IP. That covers most chat and forum use.
GIF stores every frame separately with a 256-colour palette. Dropping from 15 to 10 fps and from 640 to 480 px usually cuts the file by more than half without a visible difference.
Above roughly 15 seconds, a GIF becomes heavier than the source video. Use MP4 for anything longer — GIF only wins for short, silent loops that must autoplay everywhere.
